The usual suspects and the big first half

The first half has come to a close here at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex, and I’m already checking Southwest Airlines for cheap tickets to Louisville.

The Terrapin field hockey team leads Duke 5-1 at the break, and looks poised to return to the Final Four, held this year on the Cardinals campus in Kentucky.

It is freezing here on the field, and while my hands are numb just typing this, the Terps don’t seem to mind.

After a tight 4-2 win yesterday against No. 20 Albany, the Terps have come out today looking like the best team in the nation.

The usual suspects are at it again as Susie Rowe has powered home two goals on penalty corners, and forward Katie O’Donnell has assisted three fast break goals.

Players have pined for a rematch with Duke since the Blue Devils handed the Terps their second loss of the season, and they are not wasting their good fortune.

Duke has made it interesting with a score in the closing minutes of the half and it will be interesting to see how the Terps come out in the second half.

Will they rest on their laurels or come out on the attack? Either way they could hardly be in better shape.

In the meantime, I’m hoping for to a trip to the Bluegrass state. Maybe I’ll even see Terp basketball de-commit Terrence Jennings!

Anyone know any good restaurants in Louisville?
