Nearly 300 miles away in Raleigh, NC, Greivis Vasquez wanted to deliver this special message to the Terps faithful regarding Tuesday’s home game against No. 13 Wake Forest.
“This is for the local media,” Vasquez said, “Our fans gotta do a great job on Tuesday showing up for Dave Neal [on his senior night]. It’s our last home game and we can do something special this year. If they come fired up, crazy, we just gotta get that building rocking so we can get that win against Wake Forest, because [the fans] are a big part of our team when we’re at home.”
Even when asked a separate, unrelated question, Vasquez was adamant about driving home his previous point.
“I just want our fans to get into it Tuesday like they get into it when we play Duke,” he added. “It’s our biggest game of the season to me, so hopefully, we all go crazy–players, coaches, fans, everybody–let’s make it a fun night and hopefully we get the win at the end of the night.”
So I guess I’ll see you there Tuesday at 9 p.m.
