Who says Gary is old-school?

Ladies and gentlemen, this is fantastic news. I’ll let the press release do the talking, because I can’t do this one justice:

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Fans of Maryland Basketball can now stay on top of the Terps’ game by signing up to follow Head Coach Gary Williams’ tweets on Twitter.com.

Williams has become part of the social networking site Twitter.com. With the launch of Williams’ official Twitter account (www.twitter.com/mdcoachwilliams), fans can receive updates from the popular Terps’ coach on the Internet or on their mobile phone.

Fans should go to Coach Williams’ site to follow the tweets as they are posted. Users must create an account to join. Once logged in, fans can follow other users, as well as the Terps’ head coach.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m signing up immediately. Feel free to post some sample Gary “tweets” in the comments section.

Reading over the tweets so far, it looks like Williams might have a future as an NBA analyst. He’s actually got some thoughtful NBA playoff related posts.

On the other hand, it’s hard to believe Gary Williams would use this amount of exclamation points.
