Terrapin lacrosse has recent history on its side

Reading up on the lacrosse world, I caught a great observation from Edward Lee of the Baltimore Sun.

The Terrapin men’s lacrosse team should like this. From Lee:

The Fighting Irish’s last three trips to the NCAA tournament have ended in losses to the eventual national champion. Notre Dame lost to Virginia and Johns Hopkins in the first round in 2006 and 2007, respectively, and fell to Syracuse last May. Does this bode well for Maryland?

Well the history sure does look good. But a quarterfinal matchup with No. 2 seed Syracuse doesn’t seem too friendly.

Still, when the Terps won in South Bend, Ind. on Sunday, they may have earned more than a a trip to Hempstead, N.Y. Perhaps they also stole a bit of luck heading forward.
