Volleyball Swept in Three by Duke

September 25th, 2009 08:35 pm by Jakob Engelke

The Terrapin volleyball team only scored 50 total points in a lopsided loss to Duke tonight in Comcast Center Pavilion.

The Terps (9-6, 1-1 ACC) were embarrassed in front of crowd of 339, and considering the men’s soccer national championship rematch going on at Ludwig right now, that’s a fairly decent amount. The 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-20) loss can be attributed to a combination of poor defensive play and untimely errors.

The team committed a total of 37 errors, many coming at the worst possible times. The match itself ended on a service error by libero Sam Rosario.

It seemed as if the Blue Devil’s attack was too much for the Terps. Duke had 41 kills, hitting .260. The Terps hit .072.

The team must regroup fast, as it plays host to Wake Forest tomorrow at 5.
