Steve Goins Update

During yesterday’s men’s basketball intrasquad scrimmage, 12 players logged time.

One, sophomore forward Steve Goins, did not.

Goins continues to be bothered by the knee he had surgery on this summer, according to coach Gary Williams.

Williams said Goins will be re-examined today, and they will consult the doctor who performed the surgery in Goins’ hometown of Chicago.

Recently, the 6-foot-10, 245-pounder’s knee has swelled after each time he tests it out on the court, and he had fluid drained from it last week, the 21st-year coach said.

“Something’s not right,” Williams said. “We could really use him out there, too.”
