Halftime – Tar Heels 1, Terps 0

November 4th, 2009 10:16 pm by Chris Eckard

North Carolina midfielder Tobin Heath scored the lone goal of the first when when she took a pass from Casey Nogueira and slid the ball on the ground past Terps goalkeeper Mary Casey.

The Terps have struggled offensively, with only one shot. The Tar Heels, meanwhile, have maintained possession most of the first half and pressured the Terps defense on a consistent basis.

Terps defender Sky Anderson, who returned from a hamstring injury, was injured once again in the first half of the game. Junior Colleen Deegan came in to replace her.

If the Terps want to win this game, they will need to put more pressure on the Tar Heel defense.

To begin the second half the Terps came out with forward Caitlin Mooney in for Danielle Hubka and midfielder Ashley Grove for Lydia Hastings. Pensky is trying to get more speed at the midfield position with Grove.

More to come later.
