RALEIGH, N.C.– Hello everyone.
The Diamondback has reached the press box of Carter-Finley Stadium, high above the field where the Terrapin football team will kick off against N.C. State about 90 minutes from now.
The Terps and the Wolfpack are battling to stay out of last place in the ACC’s Atlantic Division, and the buzz around the stadium this morning is significantly lacking.
There is some tailgating going on in the parking lots and some kind of block party happening outside the RBC Center next door, but the people I walked past on the way into the stadium just didn’t appear that excited for this game.
Our trip down last night was relatively uneventful, highlighted by Co-Beat Writer Adi Joseph’s extreme disappointment to discover there was no chili on the chili cheeseburger he ordered from Sonic.
I think Adi’s trip is irreparably ruined.
After an unseasonably cold night down here last night, the weather is absolutely beautiful today.
It’s warm and sunny, so if the Terp offense can’t move the ball this week it won’t have the weather to blame this time.
Players from both teams are warming up casually. Chris Turner is taking some snaps from Phil Costa and throwing 20-yard passes to some of his receivers.
For those who care about such things, the Terps are wearing white pants.
We’ll be back with any pregame personnel notes as they come up.
