DE Isaiah Ross
True freshman defensive end Isaiah Ross will miss the season’s final three games with an ACL injury after a hit Terp coach Ralph Friedgen and senior defensive tackle Travis Ivey called into question.
“I’m going to look at that one,” Friedgen said. “I think it was really uncalled for. He should have been thrown out of the game. [Referees] didn’t even see it, which doesn’t surprise me. He got an ACL, so he’s definitely done.”
Ivey was on the field at the time, and offered a more specific analysis.
“The guy just basically, after the play, speared him in his leg, then jumped on top of him and kept hitting him while on top of him,” Ivey said. “They were playing hard, they were playinig passionate. But sometimes you have to draw the line. The ref didn’t see it, didn’t call it. It added fuel to the fire as far as how we would play.”
More on quarterback Chris Turner’s MCL injury should hopefully be revealed in this evening’s teleconference.
