Terrapin men’s basketball coach Gary Williams today confirmed the return of forward Dino Gregory from suspension for Dec. 12, in time for the Terps’ game against Eastern Kentucky.
Williams declined to elaborate further on the situation.
“I expect Dino Gregory to be ready to play Dec. 12. I believe we play Eastern Kentucky. As you probably know, Dino’s been practicing with us. …So we look forward to having Dino at that time.”
When asked if there was anything reassuring about knowing when Gregory would return, Williams responded:
“I really don’t want to comment anything, you know, regarding Dino. I just, we’re gonna try to be as good a team as we can this year, that’s what we’re working toward. Dino’s certainly a big part of that, you know, that’s where we are.”
The Washington Post reported that Gregory knew of a pending academic dishonesty charge this summer, but it is unknown whether that charge was related to the suspension.
The Athletics Department has declined to elaborate on the situation. The final day of fall semester classes is Dec. 11.
