Terp women bumped up

The impending Snowmageddon/Snowpocalypse Redux/Snowbliteration hasn’t even started dropping its white stuff on the Metropolitan area, but it’s already sent the Athletics Department scurrying.

Among the fallout from the impending snowfall is the rescheduling of tomorrow night’s Terrapin women’s basketball game against No. 21 Georgia Tech. Originally scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. tip-off, the game was moved this evening to a 4 p.m. start Friday.

I’ve got to be honest: It will be a little weird covering a Friday matinee game. Obviously, nothing changes inside Comcast Center when the times get moved around (except maybe the crowds), but it should be interesting to note who comes out with what energy in the game’s opening stanza.

Anyway, here’s some other quotes from coach Brenda Frese that didn’t make Friday’s paper edition of The Diamondback.

On the upcoming stretch of home games:

“We get three out of our next four games at home. For us, it’s a chance and an opportunity to control our own destiny. Any time you can be in that position, you’ve got to be excited about it.”

On whether the team really knows what to expect from Georgia Tech:

“I don’t think you get a feel on teams until you actually play them.”

On having to play two games in four days:

Everybody’s in a tough stretch. Luckily, for us, we’ve played UVA once already, so this is a return game. It’s a team that we know and are very familiar with. Everybody’s in the stretch right now with a lot of games.”
