Because The Diamondback is printed on dead trees, there are certain space limitations, and every single piece of information from the Terps’ Pro Timing Day couldn’t make it into the print edition.
If you’re craving more pre-draft coverage, click the jump to read some quotes from yesterday’s workouts.
Rick Courtright, Arizona Cardinals’ assistant defensive backs coach, on the former Terps’ positioning in the NFL draft:
“That’s a tough thing to say at this point. The draft takes on its own identity as guys go through their pro days. It’s a little early on in March, so pro days are just beginning and other guys can advance or even fall based on how they do over the next several weeks.”
Ralph Friedgen on what scouts look for at pro days:
“[The scouts] try to find out all the measurables. But like I tell all our guys, ‘The thing that’s most important is the motivation and determination that you have.’ That’s what will help you fill your potential.”
James Franklin on Bruce Campbell’s decision not to participate in the physical workout portion of yesterday’s event:
“Once you’ve gone to the combine there’s no reason, unless you didn’t do well do well on a certain event. That wasn’t the case with him. All he can do here is hurt himself, so it doesn’t make sense to do any of that.”
Bruce Campbell on life since the NFL Combine:
“Life since the Combine: it’s changed a lot. It’s a lot of interviews and a lot of calls from different teams and my agent.”
Campbell on his draft position:
“A lot of people are saying first round. … I’m not setting my head on any one position, wherever I go, I go. And I’ll accept it.”
Campbell on if he favors a chance to play for a local team like the Redskins or Ravens:
“I was always a college type of guy and the NFL wasn’t my thing until senior year of high school. … So there’s really no team I favor at all.”
Cory Jackson’s thoughts on the Pro Day:
“I was just trying to show that I had the speed to play at the next level. I felt like I had the film, over the past four years, that shows I could block guys in the pros now. But I needed to run the 40 just like some other guy who is trying to compete for my spot, but I feel like I did pretty well today.”
“I think [today] does improve my draft status. People were probably worried about my knee being an issue, but I did all the drills and I did them well.”
Nolan Carroll on getting back on the field after his injury:
“It was kind of weird doing some position drills, but once I got the hang of it, it was fine.”
