Sorry folks, no dancing this year at Maryland Madness. Terp guard Eric Hayes broke the bad news, speaking briefly to the small assemblage of reporters in the the Comcast Center media workroom.
“We’re not doing a dance,” said Hayes, who assured us that his moves would not have been affected by his healing turf toe.
It’s all well and good that Hayes has recovered, but why no dance off?
“I’m not really sure, we had no choice in it really,” Hayes said. “I think they’re trying to get back to the basics. … Midnight Madness how it used to be back in the day.”
Well that stinks. Look like no one will be taking the crip walk mantle from “Sweet Feet” Dave Neal.
And it’s not just me who is disappointed.
“Some of the guys are upset that we’re not doing a few of the things we did in the past, but we’ll get over it,” Hayes said.
I’ll try to get over it too.
Weak. What is the point of going on a Friday night if there is no entertainment? I could just go watch a practice. That maryland madness stunk and I don’t know if I’ll go back next year if the athletic department continues to ruin it….
