Jordan Williams, a 4-star senior center from Torington, CT, officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Terrapins men’s team next season.

Williams averaged 28 points, 15 rebounds, 7 blocks and 3 assists last season at Torrington High School. Scout.com ranks Williams as the 16th best center in the 2009 class.

“At 6-10, Jordan is one of those rare players who can run the court very well, while being a traditional inside player,” said Gary Williams, whose Terrapins open the 2008-09 season on Friday at home against Bucknell. ” Jordan has great hands in rebounding and catching the basketball. He showed tremendous improvement over the past summer.”

The signing was no surprise, as it was reported last month thatJordan intended to sign with the Terps.

The National signing period continues through next Wednesday, November 19.
